Q. Am I a candidate?
A: Patients present desiring nose reshaping from all age groups and backgrounds. A medical history and nasal examination will be performed at the consultation and recommendations for x-rays or CT scan examinations will be evaluated. A prior history of nasal fracture or sinusitis will be fully evaluated on an as needed basis. Significant underlying medical disease will, of course, require medical clearance for any surgery.
Q. How long will I be out of work?
A: The surgical procedures involving nose reshaping in Philadelphia are approximately 1 hour in duration. The initial post-operative surgical dressing for rhinoplasty involves a small cast over the nose for 1 week. Showering is permitted with little contact to the cast during that time. Packing is almost never used. After 1 week, the cast is removed in the office and the small stiches are removed from the narrow central column of the nose. Some bruising under the eyes will persist for 2 total weeks.
Q. Is there pain, bruising, scarring?
A: The answer is yes, but each is limited and well monitored. The bruising and pain gradually improve over the first week to two weeks after surgery. The scarring is very minimal and located in a nearly transparent and hidden location. The initial healing occurs over the next three months, but rhinoplasty healing may not be entirely complete for 18 months to two years.
Our goal through each nose job is to improve your facial features, so you no longer are dissatisfied with its appearance. For a surgically corrected nose, trust the experience and training of Dr. Gabay to exceed your expectations.
