How to Know if a Nose Job Would Be Right for You

Maybe you’ve hated your nose all your life, or maybe you just started noticing your hatred for it recently. Whatever the case may be, you’re probably here right now because you wish to change it a little, tweak it, if you will. The good news is that you can with our help at Gabay & Gottlieb Cosmetic Surgery Center. With two of the top cosmetic surgeons in Philadelphia, PA, you can have the nose of your dreams in no time. In this blog, we’re going to discuss how you can tell if rhinoplasty (a nose job) would be right for you.

Are you a good candidate?

Candidates for rhinoplasty come from all ages and backgrounds. If you’re in good health and desire to have your nose reshaped, then you will most likely be a good candidate for this procedure. Here at Gabay & Gottlieb Cosmetic Surgery, nasal examinations and medical histories are performed and checked at the initial complimentary consultation. From there, we’ll determine the best way for you to proceed.

How should you prepare for the surgery?

After the consultation and we decide how to proceed with your surgery, we will provide you with a list of instructions before you undergo the procedure. Generally, eating and drinking are not allowed after midnight on the evening before rhinoplasty is performed. Once you speak with Dr. Gabay or Dr. Gottlieb, you will receive more information.

How long can you expect to be out of work?

At Gabay & Gottlieb Cosmetic Surgery Center, the rhinoplasty procedure will typically last an hour in duration. When you’re recovering from it, the initial postoperative surgical dressing involves a small cast over your nose for one week. Most people can expect to be out of work for about one to two weeks. You should not begin to exercise again for at least three to four weeks.
